Redmi 9 Power VS Realme Narzo 20 Specs Comparison

Th Redmi Note 9 series was launched in China a while back, and the Redmi 9 Power is just a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G phone which Xiaomi is selling for INR 10,999. At 10k, the Redmi 9 Power competes with a lot of budget phones in the Indian Market, most notably the Realme Narzo 20 which is priced at INR 10,499. So, I will be comparing the specs of the Redmi 9 Power to those of the Realme Narzo 20

Realme Narzo 20 VS Redmi 9 Power: Price

So first, let us just get the price out of the way, the Redmi 9 Power costs INR 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant while the 4GB + 128GB variant costs INR 11,999. The phone is available in 4 colours:  Blazing Blue, Electric Green, Fiery Red, and Mighty Black. It will be available starting 22 December via Amazon and MI offline and online stores.

The Realme Narzo 20 starts a little lower at INR 10,499 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, however the 4GB + 128GB variant costs INR 11,999. The phone comes in 2 colours: Glory Silver and Victory Blue. The phone is available via Realme.com and Flipkart.

Both the Redmi 9 Power and the Realme Narzo 20 come with gradient matte finishes that change depending on how the light hits them. The Redmi 9 Power comes with a vertical camera cut-out and a side mounted fingerprint scanner while the Realme Narzo 20 comes with a squarish camera cut-out and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 9 Power measures 162.3mm x 77.3mm x 9.6mm and the Realme Narzo 20 measures 164.5mm x 75.9mm x 98mm. The Narzo 20 is a bit heavier at 208g compared to Redmi’s 198g.

The Redmi 9 Power sports a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 while the Realme Narzo 20 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ Resolution. Both of these phones house the selfie camera in a waterdrop style notch.

The Redmi 9 Power comes with a quad-camera setup including a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, the phone features an 8 MP front camera. The Realme Narzo 20 on the other hand comes with a triple camera setup including a 48MP main shooter, an 8MP Ultrawide lens and a 2 MP Macro lens. For selfies, the phone features an 8MP front camera.

The Redmi 9 Power comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 64GB/128GB storage variants, both of which are expandable via a MicroSD card. The phone also comes with a 6000 mAh battery along with support for 18W ‘fast’ charging via a USB type C port.

The Realme Narzo 20 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 which is a gaming-focused chipset and a Mali G-52 GPU along with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage which can be expanded via a Micro SD card slot. The Narzo 20 also features a 6000 mAh battery along with support for 18W ‘fast’ charging via USB type C.

The Redmi 9 Power comes with Android 10 out of the box along with MiUi 12 and the Narzo 20 also comes with Android 10 with Realme UI on top.

Conclusion

So at the end of the day which phone should you buy? The Redmi 9 Power costs INR 500 more but comes with an FHD+ screen instead of an HD+ screen and also comes with an additional depth sensor which may improve edge detection in portrait shots. However, we will have to wait for the Real World testing of the Redmi 9 Power to see how these features perform.
