New Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Launched: Specifications and Prices

Samsung Galaxy S21 Series has officially launched with a new design aspect and overall a better looking and performing flagship for the year 2021. The new color schematics are bringing a premium feel to those already dapper-looking flagships from Samsung. The newly announced Galaxy S21 Series have a makeover in the back design which is a show-stealer and all the devices across the lineup support 120Hz panel, unlike last year.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Series start from INR 69,999 or $799 and goes all the way up to INR 1,05,999 or $1299. The lineup of the Galaxy S21 series is as follows, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Samsung announced its flagship Galaxy smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event for the year 2021 which normally takes place at the start of the year and held successfully this year as usual at the same time.

Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+

Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ are the baseline editions of the flagship Galaxy devices from Samsung for this year. The design and internal specifications of the Galaxy S21 and S21+ smartphones are quite similar and have minor differences that are significant to distinguish the barrier between the two siblings and make them unique in their own ways.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Series

The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a 6.2-inch AMOLED display whereas the bigger S21+ comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. The battery size for the Galaxy S21 is a 4,000mAh cell and the Galaxy S21+ gets fueled by a bigger 4,800mAh. The main differences physically are the back build of the devices where the S21+ has a Glass covering it but the S21 features a polycarbonate body at the back.

Both the smartphones comprise a triple camera setup on the rear with a similar design where the camera bump is seamless stretches into the sides of the body at one corner of the device. The triple camera setup features a 12MP Ultra-Wide, a 12MP Wide-Angle sensor, and a 64MP Telephoto lens with 3x Optical Zoom and Phase Detection Focus. The front camera on the S21 and S21+ is a 10MP sensor with Dual Pixel Auto Focus that is embedded in the punch hole of the display.

The Galaxy S21 and S21+ smartphones get powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC in particular countries and the rest of the countries get to experience Samsung’s very own Exynos 2100 SoC where both the processors are based on 5nm technology. The processors are manufactured with similar technology but Samsung has previously claimed that Exynos 2100 might surpass Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Lineup

The devices are available in two different storage variants which are 8GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of internal storage. The color schematics for the Samsung Galaxy S21 are 128GB in Phantom Violet, Phantom Gray, Phantom Pink, and Phantom White. The 256GB is available only in Phantom Gray. The Galaxy S21+ comes in a pallet of colors which are 128GB in Phantom Violet, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Black. The 256GB variant of S21+ is exclusive to Phantom Black color.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the premium and high-end version of the series that has all the Knicks and knacks that a flagship smartphone can be offered by the manufacturer. The design is the striking element of the whole series of Galaxy S21 and the S21 Ultra is no exception with having a bigger camera bump and greater optics for better pictures/video quality.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra features a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED Display which is slightly bigger than the S21+ smartphone. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is basically a bigger and hefty version from the S21+ and S21. The flagship ultra features a 5000mAH capacity cell. The device gets powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC in some regions and Exynos 2100 in the rest of the countries. The manufacturer for the first time introduces S-Pen support through the S21 Ultra smartphone which was limited to the Note series.

As the name says S21 Ultra, the smartphone has an array of improvements in the camera department which is a quad-camera setup with a 108MP Wide-angle, 10MP Telephoto with 3x Optical Zoom, 10MP Telephoto with 10x Optical Zoom, and a 12MP Ultra-Wide Sensor with a 120-degree Field of View. The cameras of S21 Ultra can Zoom in up to 10x optical and 100x Space Zoom. The front camera features a 40MP sensor with Phase Detection Auto-Focus and is embedded in the punch hole of the display.

Prices and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S21 starts at INR 69,999 for the 128GB variant and INR 73,999 for the 256GB variant. The Galaxy S21+ starts at INR 81,999 for the 128GB variant and INR 85,999 for the 256GB storage option. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra starts at INR 1,05,999 for the 12GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version is priced at INR 1,16,999. The high-end variant of S21 Ultra that features 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is not yet made available to India.
