Redmi 9 Prime with Helio G80 SoC and Quad-Cameras launched starting at Rs. 9,999

Redmi has launched its newest budget segment smartphone dubbed as Redmi 9 Prime in India. The smartphone from Redmi was launched before in Spain as a normal Redmi 9. But, here in India, the manufacturer has released a rebranded version of the same as Prime added to the name.

The smartphone with a lower price offers a budget range of specifications for the Indian market. The 9 Prime has a waterdrop style notch on display and a rear fingerprint sensor. The Xiaomi’s sub-brand has unveiled a couple of smartphones this year that have made good sales and is competing with Realme and other brands at this price range.

Redmi 9 Prime Specifications and Price Details

The Redmi 9 Prime comes with a 6.53-inches FullHD+ LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection that has waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The MediaTek’s Helio G80 processor powers the smartphone coupled with 4GB of DDR4X RAM and 64GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 512GB via an SD card.

The camera setup used on the device is a Quad-Lens comprising of a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera is an 8MP sensor. The device runs on the latest Android 10 out of the box with MIUI skin on top of it.

The smartphone comes with all the necessary connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, IR blaster, and a USB Type-C port. The device also has a P2i splash-proof certificate for occasional water splashes—the device packs in a 5,020mAh battery that uses an 18W adapter for fast charging.

The Redmi 9 Prime flaunts in four colors- Matte Black, Mint Green, Space Blue, and Sunrise Flare colors. There are two variants available for sale, which are 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs. 9,999 and 4GB RAM and 128GB of room for Rs. 11,999. The sales of the Redmi 9 Prime will start from August 6 at 10 am on Amazon India during Prime Day sale offers.
