Android Executive Shows Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor on the Upcoming Pixel 6

Google has already announced its launch of flagship Pixel smartphones, including the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google’s SVP Hiroshi Lockheimer posted a tweet by including a screenshot that gave a potential glimpse at the Pixel 6 Pro, its screen resolution, and its under-display fingerprint sensor.

The screenshot depicts Android 12’s lock screen with a fingerprint symbol on-screen just below the clock, according to the Twitter post. Also, it indicates a device with an under-display fingerprint sensor.

However, the tweet was deleted after few minutes after Google’s SVP shared the post. The screenshot included the UI of the lock screen that fits a Pixel device with Android 12 and a fingerprint scanner icon located on display.

The screenshot that Google’s SVP Hiroshi Lockheimer posted had a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200. According to speculation, the screenshot was captured on the upcoming Pixel 6 Pro as there were many Google-style icons on the screen. The Google Pixel 6 will sport a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a high 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to run on Google Tensor, Titan M2 chipset. The Google Pixel 6 will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor as well. The smartphone will be available in Red/Sand, Blue/Green, and Gray/Black color variants as official color names aren’t announced yet.

In comparison, the Google Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a high 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to run on Google Tensor, Titan M2 chipset like the Google Pixel 6. The Google Pixel 6 Pro will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor as well.

PIxel 6 Pro Colors

The smartphone will be available in Gray/Black, Sand/Yellow, and Gray/Light color variants as official color names aren’t announced yet. Both the smartphones will feature 50 MP Samsung’s ISOCELL GN1 as its primary sensor in terms of optics, though the Pro version will feature a 4x Telephoto lens.

Google stated that the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro would be launched in the fall and even confirmed that the Pixel 6 would have a 1080p display while the Pro model will display up to QHD+.

According to rumors and speculations, the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro are expected to feature 50 MP Samsung’s ISOCELL GN1 as its primary sensor. The Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro will run on Google Tensor chip. The two of Google’s handsets are rumored to feature a brand new design.
