Redmi 10A with MediaTek Helio G25 SoC Launched in China

Redmi 10A has officially launched as an affordable basic smartphone from the sub-brand of Xiaomi in China. The smartphone arrived as a successor to the Redmi 9A smartphone, announced in 2020. The newly launched Redmi device is not much of an upgrade from its predecessor.

The Redmi 9A and 10A boast a similar set of specifications, such as the Helio G25 chipset and the single 13-megapixel rear camera. However, the only upgrade found on the smartphone is the design revamp and a higher storage option. Let’s take a quick overview of the new Redmi 10A handset.

Redmi 10A Specifications

The Redmi 10A boasts a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 720 × 1600 pixels. The display on the 10A comes with a water-drop notch, 400 nits of peak brightness, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 chipset coupled with up to 6 GB of RAM powers the handset.

Redmi 10A Launched in China

Redmi 10A includes up to 128 GB of internal storage and expandability of 512 GB via an SD card. The device supports dual sims and runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android.

The camera module on the Redmi 10A comes with a single camera with a 13-megapixel sensor and an LED flash. The rear camera comes with Xiaomi’s AI Camera 5.0 capabilities with a scene recognition feature to recognize up to 27 scenes. The front-facing camera is embedded with the water-drop notch on display, which features a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.

The connectivity options on the Redmi 10A include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a micro USB port. The sensors array on the Redmi 10A comes with an accelerometer, ambient light, and a proximity sensor. The device features a 5000mAh, battery that supports standard 10W charging.

Price and Availability

The Redmi 10A starts at  CNY 699 or Rs. 8,300 for the base storage version of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The 4 GB RAM 128 GB storage variant costs CNY 799 or Rs. 9,500, and the top-end storage variant costs CNY 899 or Rs. 10,700 with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.

The smartphone flaunts three different color options Shadow Black, Smoke Blue, and Moonlight Silver shades. The device is currently open for pre-orders and goes on sale from March 31 in China. Currently, there’s no official information regarding the launch of Redmi 10A in India.
