Oppo Find N Foldable Smartphone Announced

OPPO launched its first folding phone during its annual Inno Day event in China on Wednesday, 15th December this year, named the OPPO Find N. According to the company, the OPPO Find N is more durable and a more functional folding phone than anything seen in the market today. The Oppo foldable smartphone is inspired by Samsung’s Galaxy Fold design, but it’s a better version.

Pete Lau, OnePlus founder, Oppo chief product officer said in a statement,” Oppo has invested a significant amount of time and effort into coming up with a better approach to a foldable smartphone, experimenting with a range of form factors, hinge designs, display materials, and aspect ratios, to create a new device that meets the needs of more users. With the Oppo Find N, we aim to change people’s perceptions about what a smartphone can offer and begin making foldable devices more accessible to an even larger audience.”

The company added that the Find N 5G is Oppo’s first-ever folding phone and the result of four years of research and development and six generations of the prototype. The OPPO Find N features a 7.1-inch inner AMOLED display with a 1729×1920 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and comes with a host of specifications. The OPPO Find N sports a display measuring 5.49 inches with an 18:9 aspect ratio support. The tablet screen features a 7.1-inch inner AMOLED display with a 1729×1920 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate making it better for gaming and content playback, and 1,000 nits peak brightness.

The OPPO Find N is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS3.1 storage. In addition to that, the OPPO Find N features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner housed in the power button for biometric authentication and security, a dual speaker system, and Dolby Atmos support to deliver clear sound.

In terms of optics, the OPPO Find N features a triple-camera setup at the rear comprising a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP telephoto lens.

The handset is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that claims to offer all-day battery life, while the 33W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge is optimized to charge to 55 percent in 30 minutes and 100 percent in 70 minutes.

The OPPO Find N is priced at $1,200 (Rs. 91,700) for the base 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage configuration. In contrast, the variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage might be priced at $1,700 (Rs. 129,800) depending on the region in which the device is being released.
