iQOO 9 Series Debuts with Snapdragon 888 Gen 1 in India

iQOO 9 Series has officially made it to the Indian smartphone market with flagship-grade specifications along with Triple Rear Cameras and an all-new design. iQOO brand has made its mark in the Indian flagship space with high-end devices along with aggressive pricing competing with the other flagship smartphone brands like Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

The newly arrived series from the Vivo’s sub-brand feature the iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro and iQOO 9 SE smartphones. All the smartphones in the series gets powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8-series chipsets and sport high refresh rate displays. The camera setup on both the 9 and the 9 Pro come with Gimbals stabilization on the rear triple cameras.

The Pro variant of the series from iQOO comes with a 6.78 inches (17.22 cm) LTPO2 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 1440 × 3200 pixels. The display of the Pro version features a 120Hz high refresh rate panel, a peak brightness of 1500 nits and supports HDR 10+. The screen comes with a screen to body ratio of 89.6% and an aspect ratio of 20:9 with a pixel density of 518 PPI. An octa-core 4 nm 5G Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC coupled with Adreno 730 GPU powers the smartphone.

The cameras on the 9 Pro comes with a triple lens setup that features a 50-megapixel primary wide sensor with an f/1.8 aperture that supports Gimbals OIS. A 16-megapixel secondary telephoto sensor with an f/2.2 aperture that supports PDAF, OIS and 2.5x optical zoom. The tertiary sensor on the device features a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.3 aperture and a field of view of 150-degrees. On the front punch hole, a 16-megapixel wide sensor accompanies the display with an f/2.5 aperture.

The connectivity options of the Pro variant include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. The 9 Pro from the Chinese brand gets an under-display optical sensor for unlocking and tags along the typical sensors for a smartphone. The company provides a 4700mAh, battery on this larger high refresh boasted smartphone with 120W FlashCharge and 50W Wireless FlashCharge fast charging support.

The vanilla variant from the iQOO flagship series sports a 6.56 inches (16.66 cm) AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution of 1080 × 2376 pixels. The display of the smartphone features a 120Hz high refresh rate panel, a peak brightness of 1200 nits along with a 300Hz touch sampling rate just like the Pro variant. The screen comes with a screen to body ratio of 87.5% and an aspect ratio of 20:9. An Octa-Core 5 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset powers the smartphone, coupled with Adreno 660 GPU.

The triple camera setup provided on the 9 features a primary 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and supports Gimbals OIS. The secondary sensor on the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel telephoto shooter with an f/ 2.4 aperture that supports PDAF and 2x optical zoom. Coming to the third sensor on the setup, it’s a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture along with a 120-degree field of view. The front-facing camera comes with a 16-megapixel sensor with wide lens of f/2.2 aperture.

The SE variant sports a 6.62-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. The display same as the regular and Pro variant features the 120Hz high refresh rate. The device comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.9% and a pixel density of 398 PPI density, along with an 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone comes with a 5 nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor coupled with Adreno 660 GPU and with storage of up to 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The iQOO 9 vanilla versions starts at Rs. 42,990 for the 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and goes up to Rs. 46,990 for the 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage. Coming to the iQOO 9 SE, the handset starts at Rs. 33,990 for the 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and goes up to Rs. 37,990 for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The top-of-the-line smartphone in the series; the iQOO 9 Pro for the base version starts at Rs. 64,990 with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB and goes up to Rs. 69,990 for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

The iQOO 9 Pro will flaunt in Dark Cruise and Legend shades, whereas the vanilla 9 comes in Alpha and Legend variants. The SE version will arrive in  Space Fusion and Sunset Sierra shades; both the 9 and 9 Pro will even feature in the BMW M Motorsport design. The pre-orders for the 9 and 9 Pro will start from February 23 and the pre-orders for the SE variant will begin from March 2 on Amazon in India.
