Apple Watch Unlock Bug Fixed in the Latest iOS 15.0.1 Update

Apple recently launched its latest iPhone 13 lineup along with iOS 15. Many users started experiencing problems and started posting regarding users unable to unlock their new phones via their Apple Watch on social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter. Apple is rolling out a bug fix update with some notable improvements.

The iOS 15.0.1 and iPadOS 15.0.1 are rolling out now with a fix for Unlock with Apple Watch and other enhancements.

According to the company, a software bug may have prevented you from continuing to use this. The iOS 15.0.1 includes bug fixes for the iPhone, including an issue where some users could not unlock iPhone 13 models with an Apple watch.

The iOS 15.0.1 and iPadOS 15.0.1 feature bug fixes like unlocking iPhone with Apple Watch not working on iPhone 13 models. The settings app may incorrectly display an alert that storage is whole.

Face ID with Mask via Apple Watch

Audio meditations could unexpectedly start a workout on Apple Watch for some Fitness+ subscribers. Apple added the unlock with Watch feature in watchOS 7.4 earlier this year to make it easier to get into your iPhone.

Apple said, “Apple has identified an issue where Unlock with Apple Watch may not work with iPhone 13 devices. You might see ‘Unable to Communicate with Apple Watch’ if you try to unlock your iPhone while wearing a face mask, or you might not be able to set up Unlock with Apple Watch”.

The new update with fixes is live for all users who are using the iOS 15 version. The latest software update is about 553.7MB. The company added to the statement regarding a bug fix related to the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion display and third-party apps.

In addition, all the users can update their iPhone or iPad to iOS 15.0.1 and iPadOS 15.0.1 by heading to the Settings app > General > Software Update. However, the users who still haven’t received the update can turn off their Unlock with Apple Watch and use their passcode to unlock their iPhone 13 until the new update rolls out.

Apple’s feature to let users unlock their iPhone while wearing a mask or goggles can be disabled in the Face ID & Passcode option in the settings tab.
