Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.132 to all the users in Beta and Dev channels. It includes a host of new fixes for several apps, including the Snipping Tool, Calculator, Mail, and Calendar apps. The classic Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps have been replaced by a new Snipping Tool app that includes features of both apps.
The snipping tool features new visuals and has added functionality such as the WIN + SHIFT + S keyboard shortcut from Snip & Sketch. The shortcut will be used to take a screenshot in Windows 11.
After using the shortcut key, it will activate the snipping menu with various options, which will let users take screenshots of the selected content. The snipping menu includes Rectangular Snip, Freeform Snip, Windows Snip, and Fullscreen Snip.
The snipping tool also provides editing tools for annotations, improved cropping, and more options to edit screenshots in the way you want. In addition snipping tool also features dark mode. Moreover, if you have notifications turned off or switched Focus Assist on, users will not receive a notification after taking screenshots. However, the screenshots will be copied to your clipboard. Microsoft has stated that they will fix it in the future update.
Moving to the Calculator app, the visuals of the application are updated. It also includes a new theme setting. Moreover, the application has been rewritten in C language such that the developers can contribute to Github.
Users can also use a graphing mode to plot one or more equations and then analyze the graph to help identify key graph features, like the x- and y-intercepts. The application will also let users convert between more than 100 different units and currencies.
Microsoft has also made some changes to the Mail and Calendar app. Like the snipping tool & calculator, the mail and calendar apps have got some visual changes. Mail and Calendar can reflect your Windows theme such that users can send e-mails and check the schedule using the theme. There are also some other improvements.
