The offline-centric Y series from Vivo welcomed a new member today — the Vivo Y72 5G. With no crazy hype, the silently launched Y72 5G will compete against the iQOO Z3 5G, Realme X7, Mi 10i 5G, etc.
It carries Vivo’s signature design language of a beautiful gradient design and a comfortable form factor. The device arrives at ₹20,990 for the only variant on offer — 8GB+128GB.
Vivo Y72 5G: Specifications
The Vivo Y72 5G has a 6.58″ FHD+ IPS LCD Display with a 90Hz fast refresh rate. The screen’s resolution is 2408 x 1080 pixels, and the V-shaped notch hides the front selfie camera. The phone is 8.4mm thick and weighs 185 grams.

The rear cameras include a twin setup of 48MP+2MP; the secondary 2MP sensor is for the bokeh feature. It has an 8MP selfie camera on the front side. Vivo’s funky camera modes like Night mode on both sides, Super HDR, face beauty, Pro mode will act as a cherry on top. The smartphone packs a 5000 battery that can charge at 18W.
Connectivity features include 5G, Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, 4G LTE, and basics like GPS. It doesn’t support storage expansion via a MicroSD card, and biometric security options include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
There’s an option for AI-based face unlock as well. It supports only a single band of 5G now; however, the brand claims to provide more via OTA update later in time.
