Vivo X70 Pro and X70 Pro+ Unveiled in India with ZEISS Optics, Snapdragon 888+, and More

Vivo’s flagship X series always marks its pinnacle of technology, where Vivo puts the best of what they have. And it turns out, just six months after the announcement of the Vivo X60 series, Vivo’s already here to refresh its lineup. Let’s take a look at Vivo’s latest offering in this article.

For sure, it does come with some of the best specifications on a mobile phone. Vivo didn’t launch the vanilla X70 and instead announced the X70 Pro and X70 Pro+ only. But, you ought to be impressed by what these two have to offer.

Vivo X70 Pro: Specifications

The Vivo X70 Pro features a stunning 6.56″ FHD+ E5 AMOLED screen with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The curved panel is HDR10+ certified and sees the protection of SCHOTT Xensation Up glass on the front. Despite weighing a mere 184 grams and being just 7.99mm thick, the phone does come with an AG matte glass back and a metal frame.

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G is what the Vivo X70 Pro draws power from, and with that, there’s up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Being a 5G phone, it supports four 5G bands, and the phone also features an extended RAM feature of up to 4GB. Lastly, it runs on FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box.

Now coming to the optics, the Vivo X70 Pro houses a quad-camera setup comprising a 50MP Sony IMX766V sensor with GIMBAL Stabilization Technology 3.0, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 12MP Sony IMX663 2x telephoto camera for portrait shots, and an 8MP 5x periscope lens that can zoom in 60 times digitally. Elementary specs aside, the primary camera sees ZEISS optics, OIS on the primary and ultra-wide sensors, and ZEISS T* coating for reducing the ghosting effect and stray lights.

Being a Vivo phone, the camera modes are practically countless. You get pure night view mode, ultra-stable video mode, pro cinematic mode, extreme night vision, super night video, and ZEISS signature modes like Distagon Style, Planar Style, Sonnar Style, Biotar Style, etc. The front side has a 32MP selfie snapper.

The Vivo X70 Pro draws power from a 4450mAh battery that can charge at 44W. Other specifications include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, etc. It, however, doesn’t include a 3.5mm headphone jack and has a single mono speaker setup.

Vivo X70 Pro+ : Specifications

The more professional-looking Vivo X70 Pro+ houses a much-advanced screen. It comes with a curved 6.78″ WQHD+ E5 AMOLED LTPO display. Yes, it might sound astounding, but that’s how the display feels. WQHD+ means the panel features 3200 x 1440 pixels, and LTPO implies it can adjust its refresh rate automatically, the maximum being 120Hz and the lowest being 1Hz. On top of all, the screen is HDR10+ certified and can showcase over a billion colors, or in short, it’s a 10-bit display.

What’s inside is an absolute tank of power — Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ 5G. The Vivo X70 Pro+ comes in a single configuration of 12GB LPDDR5 RAM coupled with 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The 5nm SoC has an integrated Adreno 660 GPU, and the handset features an extended RAM feature up to an additional 4GB. It, too, runs on FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 11 and supports eleven 5G bands.

The ZEISS tuned rear cameras read out a 50MP 1/1.31” Samsung GN1 sensor with an aperture of f/1.6, a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultra-wide camera with GIMBAL Stabilization Technology 3.0, a 12MP 2x telephoto lens for portrait shots, and an 8MP 5x periscope lens which can zoom in 60 times digitally. It does come with all the bells and whistles of the Vivo X70 Pro, including the ZEISS T* coating, and every lens in this phone sport OIS. The front houses a 32MP selfie sensor.

Alongside, the Vivo X70 Pro+ houses the Vivo V1 image processing chip and can support 8K video recording at 30fps. Also, besides all the camera modes mentioned earlier on the Vivo X70 Pro, this one features a few extras, like a 360-degree horizon lock and hardware enhancements, including a high transmittance glass lens for optimum transparency. Additionally, a highly reflective ceramic cloud window on the back with ZEISS and Vivo branding reminds you of what you’re using.

The Vivo X70 Pro+ has a 4500mAh battery that supports 55W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging up to 10W. Other specifications include an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, Wi-Fi 6, USB 3.1, IP68 water and dust resistance, Bluetooth 5.2, etc. It, however, doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack but does come with Hi-Res certified dual-stereo speakers.
