OPPO is gearing up to launch a new smart TV soon in India. OPPO has established a wide range of televisions in China over the last few years. OPPO’s K9 series is expected to enter the country.
The OPPO K9 TV is already available in China and will be up to 75 inches in size with a 60Hz LCD panel that supports HDR10 + and HLG. It is powered by MediaTek SoC and runs on the company’s ColorOS TV 2.0 software.
According to tipster Mukul Sharma, OPPO plans to launch its first TV in India early next year. OPPO could enter the smart TV segment by launching a new product in Q1 of 2022.
According to the source, the source does not reveal anything about the smart television except for the release timeline. However, it’s not known whether the firm will bring its existing model or launch something new altogether. OPPO’s K9 series is expected to enter the country.
The series comprises three models featuring a 60Hz LCD with HDR10+ certification and HLG support. The smart TV will feature a quad-core MediaTek processor and ColorOS TV 2.0 operating system on top. OPPO expanded their K9 Smart TV series with a new 75-inch display that supports up to 1.07 billion colors.
OPPO K9 TV features two 15W speakers for a total of 30W output and support for Dolby Audio and features a remote that has voice assistance. In addition to that, the OPPO K9 TV features far-field speech technology as well.
In terms of Xiaomi, the company has brought its self-developed content aggregation service called PatchWall outside China with tweaks supporting Indian customers. However, it might not be the same for OPPO.
According to June’s Counterpoint Research Report, Xiaomi led the smart TV segment with a 23 percent market share, followed by Samsung at 17 percent, LG at 11 percent, Sony at 9 percent, and OnePlus at 7 percent. OPPO Smart TV K9 series might feature dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, a DTMB port, and an Ethernet port.
