OnePlus Nord 2 5G will come with some AI-based enhancements for an improved camera, display, and gaming experience. OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been officially confirmed by the company with a press release and it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC.
All OnePlus smartphones that were launched in the country till now were powered by Qualcomm processors. Until some time ago, the company was restricted to only flagship smartphones and it is only recently that it started incorporating mid-range Qualcomm processors. However, now OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will come powered by a MediaTek processor Dimensity 1200-AI SoC.
OnePlus Nord 2: Expected Specifications
The OnePlus Nord 2 will sport a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz high refresh rate. On the rear, it will feature a triple camera setup which includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP sensor.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC is a flagship chipset that utilizes 1x ARM Cortex-A78 core at up to 3.0GHz clock speed, 3x Cortex-A78 cores at up to 2.6GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at up to 2.0GHz in an octa-core setup, along with ARM’s Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
Moreover, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G will come with several AI-based features. AI Photo Enhancement is capable of recognizing up to 22 different scenarios and automatically adjusting color tones to ensure photos are optimized for maximum quality.
In terms of videos, the OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to feature an AI Video Enhancement feature that would enable live HDR effects in real-time during recording. AI Color Boost technology, AI Resolution Boost, and Smart Ambient Display technology work together to offer a more dynamic display as well.
In terms of gaming, the One Plus Nord 2 features a high refresh rate, improved heat management, and efficient power consumption. The handset runs on Android 11 out of the box. The handset is rumored to house a larger 4,5000mAh battery and it will reportedly come in 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage configurations.
EDIT: The OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to launch globally on July 22nd exclusively on Amazon in India. The launch date isn’t official yet but this seems to be an expected date. There are no speculations regarding the pricing of the OnePlus Nord yet whatsoever.
