OnePlus 9RT with 5G Snapdragon 888 SoC Launched in India

OnePlus 9RT smartphone has officially launched as a part of the company’s Winter Edition Launch event today in India. The flagship smartphone brand has brought the new device in the 9-series line-up just after the launch of their latest OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone in China.

The RT smartphone in the 9-series falls right between the 9R and the OnePlus 9 regular version. The smartphone will compete with the likes of the recently launched Galaxy S21 FE from Samsung that boasts a similar set of specifications.

OnePlus 9RT: Specifications

The 9RT on the front features a punch-hole design on the display that houses a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The 6.62-inch full-HD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels covers the punch-hole screen along with a few advanced options.

The technicalities of the display include a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 600Hz which is very high when compared to other devices. The display is capable of peak brightness of up to 1300 nits and even comes with a 100 percent DCI: P3 color gamut coverage and HDR support.

Under the hood, an octa-core 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset coupled with Adreno 650 GPU powers the device. The storage options of the OnePlus 9RT include three options with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The rear camera setup is a triple camera setup featuring a duo of 50-megapixel with OIS support for main and ultra-wide purposes with f/2.2 aperture and a FOV of 123 degrees. The tertiary sensor is a 2-megapixel macro shooter and the setup features an LED flash.

Speaking of the connectivity features, the device supports Dual-Sim 5G, 4G VoLTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, and GPS. The battery pack on the 9RT is a 4500mAh cell that supports 65W Warp Charge 65T USB Type-C fast charging.

OnePlus 9RT: Price and Availability

The OnePlus 9RT starts at Rs. 42,999 for the base variant of 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage; the mid-variant costs Rs. 46,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256 GB. The color options of the 9RT include two shades, the Hacker Black and Nano Silver.

OnePlus however hasn’t brought the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version for India which launched in China last year. The device will go on sale on Amazon and authorized retail stores in India from January 17 at noon IST; as a part of Amazon’s Great Indian Republic Day sale. However, the RCC access sale for the exclusive OnePlus fans will begin on 16th Jan at noon.
