iQOO 8 5G Might Showcase with a Top-Class Display and Ultra-Fast Charging

iQOO had announced that it will be unveiling the Vivo iQOO 8 5G smartphone on August 4th. The company has also revealed that it will be showcasing the smartphone at the ChinaJoy conference, ahead of the actual launch date.

The company has started teasing some key details of its top-tier phone. The upcoming iQOO series phone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. iQOO has also teased some key details about the device’s display. Vivo iQOO 8 5G: Specifications

The Vivo iQOO 8 5Gt will sport a 6.62-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO display with a 2K resolution, 10-bit color support, and a 120Hz high refresh rate. The display will also feature LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) tech for a variable refresh rate support that switches between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on the on-screen content. iQOO is yet to confirm the display size of the device. The iQOO 8 is expected to come with a punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

The iQOO is confirmed to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. The ‘Plus’ Qualcomm chip gets two major performance improvements. The SoC’s prime core CPU gets boosted to 2.995GHz, compared to 2.84GHz on the SD888 SoC.

It also gets 20 percent improved AI performance over the SD888 SoC. The performance unit will include 12GB of RAM and also feature 4GB of extended RAM support. The handset will boot Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0 as well.

In terms of optics, the Vivo iQOO 8 5G might feature a triple camera setup at the rear comprising a 64MP (f/1.8) primary snapper, a 13MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP (f/2.5) tertiary sensor. At the front, the handset also features a 16MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera for selfies and video chatting.

The Vivo iQOO 8 5G is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast-charging support, which will fully charge the phone within 15 minutes.

The Vivo iQOO 8 5G is expected to be priced at Rs. 42,990 ($578) for the 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage configuration. The Vivo iQOO 8 5G.

iQOO will announce the official pricing and availability details of the iQOO 8 smartphones at the time of the launch, which will take place in China on August 2.
