Apple has already enabled Magsafe wireless charging support for iPhones, but now the company is gearing up to allow the Magsafe wireless charging support to future iPad Pro models. According to a report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, wireless charging might be included in iPad Pro 2022.
According to some speculations and rumors, Apple plans to redesign the iPad Pro to accommodate MagSafe as its wireless charging solution. The company is already experimenting with at least one 2022 iPad Pro prototype with MagSafe on board.
However, integrating MagSafe wireless charging is difficult as the current iPad Pros model features an aluminum back. For wireless charging, the back design of the handset must be made of glass to make the current flow.
The upcoming iPad Pro 2022 model renders have already been surfaced online. The leaked renders state that the iPad Pro new variant features slimmer bezels, rounded corners, and the notch centered on top of the display, along with the rear design of the handset as well.
In addition to that, the leaks suggest that the Apple logo has been enlarged and that the camera module design resembles the iPhone 13 Pro lineup with the diagonal triple camera setup. According to a report, the original glass back design may have been rejected as it would make the tablet too fragile and heavy, and difficult for the users to handle.
A new leak indicates that the iPad Pro will have stronger magnets than the iPhone 13 for a better connection and enhanced charging rates for the upcoming iPad Pro. The iPad Pro 2022 variant might have a bigger battery, a camera module similar to the iPhone 13, and a new CPU named the M2.
The iPad Pro 2022 prototypes feature a glass Apple logo for MagSafe wireless charging and support wireless charging at higher wattages than the iPhones and feature stronger magnets for security and protection.
The MagSafe chargers provide the maximum charging rate of 15 Watts. The release details of the upcoming iPad Pro 2022 variant aren’t confirmed officially. However, the iPad Pro 2022 variant might be unveiled at the next Apple launch event.
