After the ROG Phone 6 Pro launch, some hardcore fans were wondering what next; now, ASUS finally unveiled its new ROG phone 6D and 6D Ultimate. The Dimensity powered counterparts to the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro. Now, Asus designed a revolutionary cooling system even by its lofty standards.
ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate: Specifications
The ASUS ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate run on the Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. But, there is one difference between ROG 6 and 6D Ultimate, and that is the memory available. The ROG Ultimate goes up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, while the standard ROG Phone 6D goes up to 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It is a massive deal for MediaTek; while its Dimensity 1200 and 1300 series are now a mainstay on the best mid-range phones, this ROG device has 9000+ Dimensity, a considerable change.
This ASUS ROG Phone has a 6.78-inch OLED panel with 10-bit color depth, 165Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ capabilities. Plus, it looks similar to the original ROG Phone 6. The primary camera is a 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor with 1.0µm pixels and an f/1.9 lens on the main unit paired with a 13 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro camera. The front camera is a 12MP sensor.
The new ASUS ROG Phone has a 6,000mAh battery capacity with support for up to 65W fast charging over USB Power Delivery. The design on the back remains the same. The 6D Ultimate edition gets a ROGs color PMOLED display on the rear. The standard 6D still has an RGB LED-illuminated ROG logo.
Furthermore, all ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro accessories are compatible with the new 6D and 6D Ultimate. However, the new ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate has new AeroActive Portals on its rear. The utility of the AeroActive Portals is to help give the right path to the internal cooling components of the phone with a motorized hinge. It provides the fan with exceptional sustained performance and functions by enabling it to evacuate heat much more effectively.

The ROG Phone 6D & 6D Ultimate are available in only a single color— Space Gray. The vanilla 6D starts at £799 in the UK while the other Ultimate starts at £1,199. Plus, the AeroActive Cooler 6 attachment, which costs around €89, is bundled with the Phone 6D Ultimate.
