Apple Announces its New MacBook Pros, Music Voice Plan, and More in October 2021 Keynote

It wasn’t long ago Apple sent the invitations for October 2021 Keynote. It took place yesterday, and Apple announced a new range of MacBook Pros and AirPods Generation 3. Along with those, we saw a few other things on board. Here’s what you need to know about everything that Apple announced at the 2021 Unleashed event.

MacBook Pro

Apple announced its new addition to the MacBook lineup—the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. It comes with a squared-off design that we have seen lately on the new Apple products. The new range of MacBook Pros comes with a notch cutout for a 1080p camera; however, there are no signs of a FaceID. They have a 120Hz ProMotion Liquid Retina XDR Display. The display can brighten up to 1000 nits for typical brightness and 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content.

Apple MacBook Pro 2021

The new MacBook Pro lineup comes with two new processors from the house of Apple—M1 Pro and M1 Max. That said, Apple seems to have thrashed down Intel processors in terms of performance. The SSD speeds go up to an astounding 7.5 GB/s. There’s a new 6-speaker sound system with four woofers and two tweeters. There’s an added support for Spatial Audio, and the mic has slightly improved.

Apple claims a battery life of 17 hours and a max of 21 hours in video playback when it comes to the battery. We also see some new ports added to the Pro lineup, which changes the design language of the MacBook Pro. Moreover, the new MacBooks can charge up to 50% in only 30 minutes. Also, Apple now supports MagSafe, bringing a new addition of accessories to the MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro lineup is available in 14-inch and 16-inch models and priced at $1999 and $2499, respectively.

AirPods 3rd Generation

Another big highlight of the event was the announcement of the AirPods 3rd Generation. The new AirPods now support Spatial Audio and bring a new design. It looks similar to AirPods Pro, but there are no rubber ear tips here. In addition to that, the case now charges via a MagSafe Charger.

Apple claims that the 3rd Generation of AirPods has better and improved bass performance. They have 6 hours of battery life, better than the previous generations when listening to audio. These new AirPods 3rd Gen come with a price tag of $179 and will ship starting next week.

Other Announcements

HomePod Mini in New Colors

There were other announcements at the event regarding other products from Apple. Apple Music now has a Voice Plan, which offers music streaming via Siri at $4 per month. Furthermore, Apple’s HomePod Mini is now available in three new colors—yellow, orange, and blue. Previously, it was only available in Gray and White.
